A simple way to describe Dr. Tasso Pappas is as a career dermatologist who practices out of Skin Care Doctors in Burnsville, Minnesota. He has been there since December 2015, but he has been in practice for more than two decades, ever since he obtained his medical degree from the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. To date, Dr. Tasso Pappas has been in practice for more than 20 years. Among his interests and specialties include areas such as melanoma/skin cancer, MOHS surgery, eczema and psoriasis, as well as acne treatments.
For example, Dr. Tasso Pappas has already performed thousands of MOHS surgeries, which are considered the most effective treatments for many basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) and squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs), the two most common forms of skin cancer. Dr. Pappas also routinely performs reconstructive surgeries for skin cancer, in part, this is because he is very intent on serving his community, as well. For at least nine years, he has volunteered to participate in annual melanoma screenings in the Twin Cities region, and he has also been a volunteer to provide tattoo removal services for those who used to belong to gangs but gave it up.
Even before getting his medical degree, the future Dr. Tasso Pappas earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of South Dakota. Besides his formal academic education, Dr. Tasso Pappas also completed an internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and went on to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for comprehensive dermatology training, which he completed in 1998. Dr. Pappas is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and he has been a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology for years.
